Carey Minter

Carey Minter has worked in the property tax profession for over 30 years and currently serves as the Chief Appraiser for Houston County Appraisal District. She began as an Administrative Assistant before moving her way up to Chief Appraiser. Carey earned her Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) designation in 1987, her Certified Tax Administrator designation (CTA) in 1993, and her CCA designation in 2015. She has served on many TAAO and ICTA committees over the years and continues to be very active in TAAO on the State level.

 

Ms. Minter served on the TAAO Executive Board and was the TAAO President in 2007-2008. In 2009, she was awarded the Marillyn Albert Award, TAAO’s highest honor which recognizes a TAAO member who consistently performs high quality work, is devoted to excellence and maintains a professional image. She has served as President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer of her local chapter, the TAAO Pineywoods Chapter, and currently serves on the TAAO Board as the Regional Director for Region 11.

 

Carey currently serves on her area Board of Directors of the Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of Houston County Career Women where she serves on the scholarship committee.
