Mike McKibben

Mike McKibben currently serves as the Chief Appraiser of the Hill County Appraisal District and has been employed in this position since 2001. His career in the appraisal profession began by working for his parent’s appraisal company performing appraisals for insurance companies before contracting with appraisal districts beginning in 1980. This experience blessed Mike with an opportunity to work in over 50 various counties throughout Texas. He later was employed by the Galveston Central Appraisal District from 1987-1995 in the capacity of an appraiser, before moving into a Department Supervisor position. In addition, Mike served as the chief appraiser of Franklin County Appraisal District from 1995-2001.


Mike’s enthusiasm and dedication to enhancing the quality of life in his profession and in the area he lives are very evident in his civic participation. He is a member of TAAO, IAAO, TAAD and the Texas Rural Chief Appraisers. He has served on numerous state and local committees for the various organizations including the Texas State Library and Archive Commission, Local Government Records. Mike currently serves locally as a Board Trustee for the Aquilla Independent School District, and is a current or past member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, Leadership Hillsboro, Economic Development Foundation, and numerous other positions.


Mike has achieved several professional state designations such as Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA), Registered Texas Assessor/Collector (RTA), Certified Tax Administrator (CTA), and Certified School Tax Administrator (CSTA).
